Overview

sitemujoqrmsm0et.xyz posed as Zama, presenting itself under the title "Zama: The Confidential Blockchain Protocol" to lure people following the project. PhishDestroy flagged it on 2026-09-27, the same day the domain was registered. The site has been offline since 2026-09-30, and its DNS was still inactive when we last checked on 2026-10-19.

How the scam works

Lookalike pages for crypto projects like Zama rely on borrowed credibility. Visitors who think they have reached the official protocol site are asked to act, typically by connecting a wallet, signing a transaction or entering sensitive details to claim tokens or access a feature. A signature or approval given on such a page can hand control of assets to the operator, and anything typed in goes straight to them. The randomized domain name shows the operators were not trying to look like Zama's real address. They depended on traffic sent through links rather than on visitors typing the name.

Evidence

On 2026-09-29, 4 of 91 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain: alphaMountain.ai, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Gridinsoft and SOCRadar. That is a low count, which is common for pages that only live for a few days. Stronger confirmation comes from wallet-focused blocklists. Besides PhishDestroy, the domain is listed by MetaMask and SEAL, so wallet users who tried to open it would have been warned.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered through Eranet International Limited on 2026-09-27 and was in use immediately, with no gap between registration and detection. It sat behind Cloudflare, Inc. on an address geolocated to Canada, which hides the real origin server. Including the .xyz throwaway name, the operation was registered, used and abandoned within roughly three days. That pattern points to a disposable campaign domain, not a long-running site.

What to do

If you connected a wallet to this page, review and revoke any token approvals or permissions it requested. If you signed anything you did not fully understand, move remaining funds to a fresh wallet. If you entered a seed phrase, treat that wallet as compromised and stop using it. Reach Zama only through channels you have verified yourself, and ignore claim or airdrop links that arrive by message or social media. Defenders should block the domain, check logs for visits around 2026-09-27 to 2026-09-30, and watch for similar randomized .xyz domains using the same Zama branding.
