PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

rewbolt.com is on the PhishDestroy blocklist. Its page is titled "John Lewis & Partners – £750 Gift Card", borrowing the name of the British department store to dangle a high-value voucher in front of shoppers. The domain name has no link to that brand. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-10-05, and as of 2026-10-19 the site was still online and serving its content.

How the scam works

PhishDestroy has not yet assigned a specific scheme to this domain, so the risk comes from what the page title shows. Unsolicited "free gift card" pages that use a trusted retailer's brand typically ask visitors to answer a short survey. They then request a name, address, phone number, email or payment card details, often for a small "delivery" or "verification" charge. Anyone who complies risks identity theft, unauthorised card charges or hidden recurring subscriptions, and no £750 voucher arrives.

Evidence

Independent detection is still thin. On 2026-10-15, five of 92 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain: alphaMountain.ai, CRDF, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Gridinsoft and SOCRadar. Most browsers and security products may therefore load it without a warning. Four AlienVault OTX threat pulses reference it, which shows other researchers have linked it to suspicious activity. PhishDestroy is currently the only blocklist carrying it.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered on 2026-09-20 through TuringSign Inc. d/b/a Cosmotown, only 15 days before PhishDestroy picked it up. A fresh domain with a name unrelated to the brand it invokes is typical of short-lived lure sites. It is hosted on the KnownSRV Ltd. network in the Netherlands rather than on anything tied to the UK retailer. Its Let's Encrypt certificate is free and automatically issued, so the browser padlock says nothing about who operates the site.

What to do

Do not fill in any forms on rewbolt.com, and treat any message that sent you there as fraudulent. If you entered card details, call your bank right away to block the card and dispute charges, and watch your statements for small recurring payments. If you shared personal details, expect follow-up phishing by email, SMS or phone, and never give codes or passwords to callers claiming to be from John Lewis or your bank. Security teams should block the domain at DNS and web proxies and report it to John Lewis & Partners' brand protection team.
