How the scam works
Lures like this usually arrive as a message about a document waiting for review, such as a draft, an agreement or a royalty statement. The link opens a page styled like a OneDrive or Adobe file viewer that asks the visitor to sign in with their email account to open the file. Whatever is typed goes straight to the operators. A stolen mailbox can then be used to reset other passwords, read private correspondence and send the same lure to every contact. The publishing-agency branding gives authors and business contacts a plausible reason to trust the request.
Evidence
On 2026-09-29, 10 of 91 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain. Detections came from BitDefender, Fortinet, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, G-Data, alphaMountain.ai, CRDF, Gridinsoft and Lionic. urlscan.io returned a malicious verdict and identified the OneDrive, Adobe and generic email branding on the page. The domain appears in five AlienVault OTX threat pulses, which means other researchers have tracked it independently. Among blocklists, it is listed by PhishDestroy.
Infrastructure
The domain was registered through Namecheap on 2025-04-10, about seventeen months before PhishDestroy detected it. A domain held that long before it is flagged can build up a clean reputation first, which helps lure messages get past filters. The site is hosted on Namecheap's network in the United States.
What to do
If you entered an email password on this page, change it immediately from a device you trust. Then sign out all active sessions and turn on two-factor authentication. Check the mailbox for forwarding rules, new filters or sent messages you did not write, and change any other account that shares the password or can be reset through that inbox.
