PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

neaprimes.com is an impersonation phishing page that presented itself simply as "Exchange", posing as a cryptocurrency trading platform to draw in retail traders. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-09-07. The site has been offline since 2026-10-10, and as of 2026-10-19 its content is blocked at the provider level, so it no longer loads.

How the scam works

Sites like this copy the look of a legitimate exchange and wait for visitors to trust it with money or credentials. Victims are usually pushed to register, log in, or fund an account, and anything deposited goes straight to the operators. A familiar follow-up is a dashboard showing fake balances or profits, with withdrawals blocked until the victim pays a "fee", "tax" or "verification deposit" that is also stolen. Any login and two-factor codes typed into the page can also be reused against the victim's real exchange accounts.

Evidence

Independent detection is thin. On 2026-09-21, only 2 of 89 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker and SOCRadar. It appears in two AlienVault OTX threat pulses, which shows other researchers were tracking it. Among blocklists, PhishDestroy is the only one listing it, so most browsers and wallets would not have warned visitors before it went down.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered on 2026-06-27 through Cloudflare, Inc. It ran for roughly ten weeks before PhishDestroy caught it, a long window for a fake exchange to collect deposits. Traffic was served through Cloudflare's network, geolocated to Canada. That address belongs to Cloudflare's proxy and hides the real origin server.

What to do

If you sent crypto to an account on neaprimes.com, assume it is gone. Do not pay any "withdrawal fee" or "unlock" charge, and ignore anyone who contacts you offering to recover the funds, because recovery offers are a common second scam. Record transaction hashes and receiving addresses and report them to your exchange and local police. If you reused a password there, change it everywhere, reset 2FA on your real exchange accounts and review their login history. Defenders should block the domain, search proxy and DNS logs for visits since 2026-06-27, and watch for look-alike domains using the same "Exchange" branding.
