mtoken.space is a phishing page that impersonates a crypto wallet. Its name is imToken with the leading "i" dropped, and its page title reads "imToken | Ethereum & Bitcoin Wallet". It targets people who hold or manage Ethereum and Bitcoin. PhishDestroy first saw it on 2026-09-13. As of 2026-10-19 the domain still resolves, but its phishing content was unreachable.
How the scam works
Fake wallet pages like this copy the look and wording of the real imToken site so that a visitor believes they are downloading, restoring or verifying their wallet. The usual goal is to get the victim to type in a recovery phrase or private key, or to install a tampered wallet app. Once the attacker has those secrets, they can empty every Ethereum and Bitcoin address tied to that wallet. Transfers on these networks cannot be reversed. The one-letter typo in the domain is aimed at users who reach the site from search results, ads or links without checking the address closely.
Evidence
On 2026-09-21, 19 of 89 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain. Among them were BitDefender, ESET, Emsisoft, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, alphaMountain.ai, CRDF, CyRadar and Ermes, which is a solid spread of independent vendors for a site only days old. urlscan.io returned a malicious verdict and recognized imToken branding on the page. The domain also appears in five AlienVault OTX threat pulses, so other researchers have tracked it as well.
Infrastructure
The domain was registered on 2026-09-11 through Cloudflare, Inc., and PhishDestroy flagged it two days later. That timing points to a site built for a short phishing run rather than a lasting business. It sits behind Cloudflare's network on an address geolocated to Canada, which hides the actual origin server.
What to do
If you entered a recovery phrase or private key on this site, treat that wallet as compromised. Create a new wallet with a fresh phrase on a clean device and move any remaining funds there immediately. If you installed an app from this page, remove it and get imToken only from official app stores or its verified site. Because wallet access may be exposed, also review and revoke token approvals on the affected addresses. Defenders should block mtoken.space and watch for similar imToken lookalike domains.
