menawex.com presents itself as "Elon Musk's Official Crypto Casino Powered by Blockchain." It is an impersonation phishing page that uses Musk's name to win the trust of cryptocurrency holders and gamblers. PhishDestroy first detected it on 2026-09-05. As of 2026-10-19 the site was still online and serving its scam content.
How the scam works
The page runs on the Gambler Scam kit, a template for fake casinos built around celebrity endorsements. Visitors usually arrive through a promo code shared on social media or in fake videos. After signing up, they see a generous bonus balance credited to their account. When they try to cash out, the site demands a minimum crypto deposit, often framed as account verification or activation. Any coins sent to the deposit address are gone, and the displayed winnings were never real.
Evidence
On 2026-09-14, eleven of 89 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain, including alphaMountain.ai, BitDefender, CRDF, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Fortinet, G-Data, Gridinsoft and Kaspersky. That is a minority of engines, but the vendors are well established and their verdicts agree. urlscan.io rated the page malicious and tagged it as generic crypto and crypto scam content. The domain appears on the MetaMask and SEAL blocklists alongside PhishDestroy, and Spamhaus DBL lists it as phishing. Four AlienVault OTX pulses also reference it, so other researchers have tracked it independently.
Infrastructure
The domain was registered on 2026-05-10 through Fewmoretaps OU, which does business as Trustname.com. That was almost four months before PhishDestroy flagged it, which suggests the operators let it age or ran it quietly before it drew attention. Traffic passes through Cloudflare, with the address geolocating to Canada, so the real origin server stays hidden behind the proxy. The site uses a free Let's Encrypt certificate, so the padlock in the browser says nothing about legitimacy.
What to do
Do not deposit anything to unlock a bonus or withdrawal. Legitimate platforms never require payment before releasing your own funds. If you already sent crypto, stop sending more, even if asked for further "fees." Record the transaction hashes and deposit addresses and report them to the exchange or wallet provider you sent from. If you reused a password from the site anywhere else, change it there and turn on two-factor authentication. Security teams should block the domain at DNS and proxy level and watch for Musk-themed casino promo codes circulating to their users.
