PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

lyonshost.online presented itself under the brand name LyonsTrust and operated as a crypto wallet drainer targeting cryptocurrency holders. PhishDestroy first identified it on 2026-09-20. The site is now offline, having gone dark on 2026-10-17, confirmed as of 2026-10-19. The page title LyonsTrust does not match a widely known financial brand, though the classification as a crypto drainer is supported by independent vendor detections.

How the scam works

Crypto wallet drainers typically lure victims through fake investment platforms, airdrop claims or trust-branded portals that prompt users to connect their cryptocurrency wallets. Once a wallet is connected, the site requests broad token approvals or triggers a malicious transaction that silently transfers all accessible assets to an attacker-controlled address. The victim loses tokens and NFTs instantly, often before realising anything is wrong. LyonsTrust's branding suggests it posed as a trustworthy financial or crypto service to lower victims' guard before executing the drain.

Evidence

Six of 91 engines on VirusTotal flagged lyonshost.online as malicious as of 2026-09-29. The vendors that raised alerts are alphaMountain.ai, CRDF, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Gridinsoft, SOCRadar and VIPRE. Detection coverage is moderate rather than universal, which is common for short-lived drainer domains that rotate quickly. The domain also appears in four OTX threat-intelligence pulses and is listed on the PhishDestroy blocklist.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered on 2026-04-02 through Network Solutions, LLC., giving the operators roughly five months before PhishDestroy detected it. Hosting was provided by Aquiryn LLC on IP 23.153.104.17, located in the United States. TLS was issued by Let's Encrypt under the YR1 authority, a free certificate commonly used to add superficial legitimacy to short-lived fraud sites.
