Overview

live-ledgersite-eng.pages.dev is an impersonation phishing page posing as Ledger, the hardware wallet maker, and aimed at people who keep crypto on a Ledger device. The 'live' and 'eng' in the subdomain echo Ledger Live, the official companion app, and suggest an English-language support or download page. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-09-08. The site has been offline since 2026-09-16, and on our last check, 2026-10-19, its content was still blocked by the hosting provider. The current page title, 'Suspected Phishing | Cloudflare', is Cloudflare's own warning screen rather than the Ledger-branded content we classified.

How the scam works

Fake Ledger pages usually claim the visitor's device needs a firmware update, a security sync or a wallet recovery. They then ask the victim to type the 24-word recovery phrase into a web form. Ledger never requests that phrase online. Anyone who has the phrase can rebuild the wallet on their own device and empty it, so the hardware wallet gives no protection once the words are typed into a website.

Evidence

On 2026-09-18, 15 of 89 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain, including BitDefender, ESET, Fortinet, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, G-Data, Gridinsoft, CyRadar and alphaMountain.ai. That is broad agreement among unrelated vendors. urlscan.io returned a malicious verdict, and its brand detection matched only the generic Cloudflare block page that now replaces the content. Besides PhishDestroy, the domain appears on the MetaMask and SEAL blocklists, both of which focus on crypto threats.

Infrastructure

The page was published as a free subdomain on Cloudflare Pages on 2026-07-26, about six weeks before PhishDestroy detected it. Throwaway subdomains like this cost nothing and take minutes to set up, which is why phishing crews use them. Traffic went through Cloudflare's network on an address geolocated to Canada. Cloudflare took the content down within about a week of our first sighting.

What to do

If you entered your Ledger recovery phrase on this site, treat the wallet as compromised. Set up a new seed on a reset or new device and move any remaining funds to it immediately. Changing a PIN or revoking approvals will not stop an attacker who holds the phrase. If you only visited and typed nothing, no action is needed beyond getting Ledger Live from its official source. Security teams should block the domain and watch for similar Ledger-themed subdomains on Cloudflare Pages.
