Its domain swaps one letter of the brand name, and its page title promises official downloads for Windows, Mac, Android and iOS. That makes Chinese-speaking users looking for a VPN client the obvious target. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-10-08. As of 2026-10-19 the site was still online and redirecting visitors.
How the scam works
The page title translates to "Kuailian VPN official site – Kuailian download". The site is built to catch people searching for the real app and convince them they have found the genuine download portal. Fake VPN download sites like this typically serve tampered installers or route visitors to further malicious pages. A user who installs software from such a source can hand control of the device to the attacker, along with saved passwords, browser sessions and any crypto wallets on that machine. The redirect is how this site moves visitors to wherever the operators currently want them.
Evidence
On 2026-10-08, VirusTotal showed 7 of 92 engines flagging the domain: alphaMountain.ai, Chong Lua Dao, CRDF, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Gridinsoft, Kaspersky and VIPRE. That count is modest, but the vendors are independent of one another and include both commercial and community feeds. The domain also appears on the MetaMask and SEAL blocklists, which shows crypto-security teams treat it as a risk to wallet users. It is referenced in 3 AlienVault OTX threat pulses.
Infrastructure
The domain was registered on 2026-09-06 through GNAME.COM PTE. LTD., just 32 days before PhishDestroy detected it. That short gap is typical of lookalike domains created specifically for a campaign. The site is hosted in the US on SonderCloud Limited's network at 149.30.222.17. It uses a free Let's Encrypt certificate, so the padlock in the browser says nothing about whether the site is genuine.
What to do
Do not download or run anything from letsvps.world. If you installed a VPN client from it, uninstall it, run a full malware scan and treat the device as compromised until it is clean. From a separate, trusted device, change the passwords for your email, banking and exchange accounts and enable app-based 2FA. If a crypto wallet was installed on the affected machine, move the funds to a new wallet created on a clean device. Get VPN software only from official app stores or the vendor's verified site.
