Overview

ledgerlive--en.pages.dev is a phishing page that impersonates Ledger, the hardware wallet maker. Its name mimics Ledger Live, the company's desktop and mobile app, to catch people looking for a download or support page. PhishDestroy first saw it on 2026-08-31. The site has been offline since 2026-09-11, and on 2026-10-19 it was still dead, with its content blocked by the hosting provider.

How the scam works

Fake Ledger Live pages usually show a convincing app download, a firmware update or a 'wallet sync' prompt. They then ask the visitor to type in the 24-word recovery phrase. Anyone who holds that phrase can rebuild the wallet on their own device and empty it, and no hardware button press is needed. Some variants deliver a trojanized Ledger Live installer instead, which asks for the same phrase. The page title now reads 'Suspected Phishing | Cloudflare', which is the provider's warning interstitial and not Ledger branding, while we classify the underlying site as Ledger impersonation.

Evidence

On 2026-09-13, 12 of 89 VirusTotal engines flagged the address, including BitDefender, ESET, Kaspersky, Fortinet, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, G-Data, Gridinsoft and alphaMountain.ai. That is a modest share of engines, but it comes from several established vendors acting independently. urlscan.io returned a malicious verdict. Its brand match points to Cloudflare, consistent with the warning page now in place. Beyond PhishDestroy, the domain is listed by MetaMask and SEAL, two blocklists focused on crypto threats.

Infrastructure

The site ran as a free subdomain on Cloudflare Pages, a setup that costs nothing and can be launched in minutes. The double hyphen in the name lets it pass at a glance for an official language-specific page. The site's creation date is 2025-08-22, about a year before PhishDestroy detected it. It was served from Cloudflare, Inc. infrastructure geolocated to Canada, and that provider's block is what took the content down.

What to do

If you entered your recovery phrase on this site, treat the wallet as compromised. Set up a new Ledger with a fresh phrase and move any remaining funds there immediately. If you installed software obtained through it, uninstall it, scan the machine and get Ledger Live only from Ledger's official site. Ledger never asks for your 24 words through an app, website, email or support chat. Security teams should block the domain, search logs for visits around 2026-08-31 to 2026-09-11, and watch for similar ledgerlive look-alikes on free hosting subdomains.
