PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

fumblbags.com is an impersonation phishing page that presented itself under the title "Bags Fumbled". That is crypto slang for selling too early or missing out on gains, which points squarely at crypto holders. PhishDestroy first flagged the domain on 2026-09-05, just two days after it was registered. As of 2026-10-19 the domain no longer resolves in DNS, so the page is currently offline.

How the scam works

Impersonation pages copy the look and tone of a project or service that users already trust, then add a single call to action, such as connecting a wallet, claiming a reward or signing in. The "Bags Fumbled" framing plays on regret over missed profits, nudging visitors to act quickly to recover or claim something. Victims who follow through can lose control of their account credentials or approve transactions that hand over their tokens. Once assets move on-chain, they are generally unrecoverable.

Evidence

Seven of 89 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain as of 2026-09-12. The flagging vendors were alphaMountain.ai, CRDF, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Fortinet, Gridinsoft, SOCRadar and VIPRE. That count is modest, but it comes from independent vendors that reached the same verdict. ScamSniffer, a blocklist focused on Web3 fraud, lists the domain alongside PhishDestroy. Spamhaus carries it in its Domain Block List under the spam category, and four AlienVault OTX threat pulses reference it.

Infrastructure

The two-day gap between registration on 2026-09-03 and detection matches the fast, disposable pattern common to crypto phishing, where domains are bought shortly before a campaign starts. The domain was registered through NICENIC INTERNATIONAL GROUP CO., LIMITED. It was hosted at 192.142.53.246 on the Ultahost, Inc. network in the Netherlands. Its DNS has since gone inactive, but the same operators may reappear on new look-alike domains.

What to do

If you connected a wallet to this site or signed anything there, revoke token approvals with a trusted approval-checker right away. If you entered a seed phrase, move any remaining funds to a new wallet, because that phrase is compromised. If you typed in a password, change it everywhere you reused it and turn on app-based two-factor authentication. Security teams should block the domain and the hosting IP, add the domain to their mail and web filters, and watch for similar "fumbled bags" style domains aimed at their users.
