PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

eng-pirateswap.org borrows the PirateSwap name, with an "eng-" prefix that makes it look like an official English-language version of the real service. PhishDestroy classifies it as an impersonation phishing page aimed at people looking for PirateSwap. We first flagged it on 2026-10-08. On 2026-10-19 the domain was still alive and redirecting visitors elsewhere, so it remains an active risk.

How the scam works

Impersonation sites like this copy a known brand closely enough that visitors trust the page and hand over what it asks for. That can be account credentials, payment details or a wallet connection that leads to a malicious signature or token approval. The page currently returns the title "404 - Page Not Found", but we classify the domain as impersonation phishing. Because the domain still redirects, the destination can change at any time, and a visitor could be passed to a live lure.

Evidence

On 2026-10-08, 6 of 92 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain: alphaMountain.ai, CRDF, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Gridinsoft, URLQuery and VIPRE. That is a modest share of engines, but the flags come from several unrelated vendors. The domain is also listed on the MetaMask and SEAL blocklists alongside PhishDestroy. The MetaMask and SEAL listings matter because both lists focus on threats to crypto wallet users.

The domain was registered on 2026-08-02 through Hosting Concepts B.V. d/b/a Registrar.eu, about two months before PhishDestroy detected it. It sits behind Cloudflare, Inc. on 188.114.97.3, geolocated to Canada. Because of Cloudflare's proxy, that address points to the Cloudflare edge network rather than the operator's own server.

What to do

If you entered a PirateSwap username and password on this domain, change the password on the real service immediately. Change it on any other site where you reused it too, and turn on two-factor authentication. If you connected a wallet or signed anything, revoke token approvals granted from that session with a reputable approval checker. Move remaining assets to a fresh wallet if you approved anything you did not understand. Only reach PirateSwap through a bookmark you saved yourself, never through links in ads, messages or search results. Defenders should block eng-pirateswap.org at DNS and web proxy level and watch for other "eng-" or regional-prefix lookalikes of the brand. Report the redirect to Cloudflare so its destination can be investigated.
