PhishDestroy threat report
efot.site presents itself as a source of "Efootball coins," the premium in-game currency of Konami's football game, and is aimed at eFootball players hoping to get coins cheaply or for free. PhishDestroy classifies it as an impersonation phishing page and first detected it on 2026-09-06. As of 2026-10-19 the domain was still online and redirecting visitors elsewhere, so it remains an active threat.
Free-currency pages like this one use the eFootball name and the promise of coins to lure players. Visitors are typically asked to sign in with their game or platform account, or to provide an email and password so the coins can be credited, and that information goes straight to the operators. Some versions add a fake verification step that pushes victims toward surveys, app installs or payment forms. No coins ever arrive. The victim loses control of the game account and anything tied to it, and any reused password is exposed.
On 2026-09-20, six of 89 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain: alphaMountain.ai, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Fortinet, Gridinsoft, SOCRadar and VIPRE. That is a small share, but these vendors are independent of one another and agree that the site is malicious. The domain also appears in four AlienVault OTX threat pulses, so other researchers have tracked it as well. Among blocklists, it currently appears only on PhishDestroy's.
The domain was registered through NameCheap, Inc. on 2026-01-10, nearly eight months before PhishDestroy detected it. That suggests it was either held in reserve or ran unnoticed for a long time. It resolves to an address on Google LLC's network, geolocated to Australia, and its certificate comes from Google Trust Services. This setup gives the page the same padlock and fast loading as a legitimate site, so neither is a sign of safety. Because the site now redirects, its final landing page may change without warning.
If you entered a game, Konami, console or email login on this site, change that password right away, along with the password on any other account that shares it. Turn on two-factor authentication and sign out of all active sessions. If you gave card details or paid a "verification" fee, contact your bank to dispute the charge and block the card. Report the account compromise to the game's official support. Defenders should block efot.site and its redirect chain at DNS and web proxies, and warn gaming communities that eFootball coins are sold only through official in-game channels.
