PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

dewfirewall.com presents itself as "DewFirewall", a Turkish-language website protection service whose page title reads "Site önü koruma" (front-of-site protection). PhishDestroy classifies it as an impersonation phishing page that targets website owners, administrators and anyone shopping for a firewall or traffic-filtering service. We first flagged it on 2026-10-07, and it was still online and serving content when last checked on 2026-10-19. The title shows a security-service storefront, while our classification is impersonation phishing.

How the scam works

Fake protection services work by borrowing the trust people place in security vendors. A site owner who signs up for "front-of-site protection" expects to hand over sensitive access such as hosting or control-panel logins, DNS settings, domain registrar credentials or payment details. A lookalike service can harvest those inputs at sign-up or checkout. With them, an operator can hijack the victim's website, redirect its traffic or charge their card. The loss is often the website itself, along with its visitors' trust, not just a single password.

Evidence

Independent detection is still thin. On 2026-10-19, VirusTotal showed 4 of 92 engines flagging the domain: Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Gridinsoft, SOCRadar and VIPRE. Four AlienVault OTX threat pulses also reference it, which shows other researchers are tracking this infrastructure. Among blocklists, it currently appears only on PhishDestroy's. Most security tools will not yet warn visitors, so the low detection count should not be read as a clean bill of health.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered on 2026-09-25 through Fewmoretaps OU d/b/a Trustname.com, only twelve days before we detected it. That short gap is typical of throwaway phishing domains set up for a quick campaign. The site sits behind Cloudflare, Inc. on an address geolocated to Canada, which hides the real origin server. Its Let's Encrypt certificate gives it a browser padlock, but that only means the connection is encrypted, not that the operator is legitimate.

What to do

If you registered with DewFirewall or entered any login there, change those passwords immediately, starting with your hosting panel, domain registrar and DNS provider. Enable two-factor authentication on each of those accounts. Then check your DNS records and nameservers for changes you did not make. If you paid, contact your card issuer to dispute the charge and block further billing. Defenders should block the domain at DNS and web proxies and watch for staff signing up for unvetted security services.
