Overview

cresthill-valtorapp.com is a fake cryptocurrency exchange that presented itself as "Cresthill Valtor | AI Trading Platform | Official Website." It targeted people looking for automated, AI-driven crypto trading returns. PhishDestroy first detected it on 2026-09-12. The site went offline on 2026-09-19, and as of 2026-10-19 its domain no longer resolves in DNS.

How the scam works

Fake AI trading platforms like Cresthill Valtor promise effortless profits from a supposedly intelligent trading bot. Victims are encouraged to register and deposit cryptocurrency. They then see a dashboard showing balances and gains that climb steadily, which is designed to prompt larger deposits. The trouble starts when someone tries to withdraw. Operators typically demand extra "taxes," "verification" or "unlock" fees, or simply stop responding. Deposited funds and any fees paid are lost, and personal or identity details submitted during sign-up can be reused in follow-up scams.

Evidence

On 2026-09-12, 17 of 89 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain. Detecting vendors include ADMINUSLabs, alphaMountain.ai, BitDefender, Chong Lua Dao, CyRadar, ESET, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker and Fortinet. The domain is listed on the PhishDestroy blocklist and is referenced in one AlienVault OTX pulse.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered on 2025-11-27 through MainReg Inc., roughly nine and a half months before PhishDestroy flagged it. It was hosted at 185.62.58.129 on the Snel.com B.V. network in the Netherlands. Its TLS certificate was issued by ZeroSSL GmbH under ZeroSSL ECC DV SSL CA 2, a domain-validated certificate that shows only domain control and says nothing about legitimacy.

What to do

If you deposited funds on Cresthill Valtor, do not pay any further fees to unlock a withdrawal, because that money will be lost too. Gather your transaction hashes, deposit addresses, emails and chat logs, and report them to your local police, your national fraud reporting service, and any exchange you used to send the crypto. If you reused a password on the site, change it everywhere and turn on two-factor authentication. Be wary of "recovery agents" who contact you offering to get your money back, since they are often the same fraudsters. Defenders should block the domain and its hosting IP, and add the Cresthill Valtor brand to monitoring for lookalike domains.
