costsavingus.com is a phishing page that presents itself as "Sam's Club Store Rewards," aimed at shoppers who recognise the warehouse-club brand and expect a genuine loyalty perk. The domain name contains no Sam's Club branding, so visitors usually arrive through a link in an ad, text or email rather than by typing it in. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-09-05. The site was still online and serving its content when last checked on 2026-10-19.

How the scam works

Fake store-reward pages typically tell the visitor they have been selected for a prize or member reward, often after a short survey designed to build trust and urgency. To "claim" it, the victim is asked for a name, address, phone number and email, and frequently for card details to cover a small shipping or processing charge. Those card details can then be used for unauthorised charges or recurring subscriptions, and the personal data feeds follow-up phishing. No real Sam's Club reward is ever delivered.

Evidence

On VirusTotal, 5 of 92 engines flag the domain as of 2026-10-18: alphaMountain.ai, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Gridinsoft, Netcraft and SOCRadar. That is a low count, so many browsers and filters will still let the page load without a warning. The domain was registered on 2026-07-04 through Fewmoretaps OU d/b/a Trustname.com, about two months before PhishDestroy detected it. That gap fits a domain held in reserve before a campaign starts. The site runs on 185.66.141.35 in the KnownSRV Ltd. network in the Netherlands. Its free Let's Encrypt certificate means the padlock icon proves nothing about who runs the site.

What to do

If you entered card details, contact your bank or card issuer right away, cancel the card and dispute any charges you don't recognise, including small recurring ones. If you gave your address, phone or email, expect convincing follow-up messages claiming to come from Sam's Club or a delivery company, and don't act on them. Check rewards only through the official Sam's Club app or website. Defenders should block costsavingus.com and its IP at DNS and proxy level, and search mail and SMS logs for links to it.
