coinindex.site presents itself as the help and contact desk of Coin Index. It is an impersonation phishing page aimed at crypto users who go looking for support and trust what looks like an official channel. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-09-25. As of 2026-10-19 the site was still online and serving its content.
How the scam works
The page title, "Coin Index — help and contact", shows the lure: a fake support portal for people who already have a problem and want it fixed fast. Fake help desks like this usually push visitors into a contact form, chat or ticket. The "agent" then asks for login credentials, one-time codes, a recovery phrase, or a wallet connection presented as a verification step. Whatever the victim hands over is used to take control of the account or wallet and move the funds out. Crypto transfers cannot be reversed.
Evidence
On VirusTotal, 3 of 91 engines flagged the domain as of 2026-10-06: Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Gridinsoft and SOCRadar. That count is low, so most security tools will not warn a visitor yet. ScamSniffer, a blocklist focused on Web3 threats, lists it alongside PhishDestroy. The domain also appears in 4 AlienVault OTX threat pulses, which shows other researchers are tracking it.
Infrastructure
The domain was registered on 2026-09-17, only eight days before PhishDestroy detected it. That short gap fits a site built for a quick campaign rather than a real business. It was registered through Cloudflare, Inc. and sits behind Cloudflare's network, with the serving address geolocated to Canada. Because of that proxy, the actual origin server is hidden.
What to do
Do not use this site to contact Coin Index or any other service. Reach support only through the official app or a website you type in yourself. If you entered a password or 2FA code here, change that password now, reset 2FA and sign out all other sessions. If you shared a recovery phrase or connected a wallet, treat the wallet as compromised: move any remaining funds to a new wallet with a fresh phrase and revoke token approvals granted to unfamiliar addresses.
