PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

bitdoofficial.shop is an impersonation phishing page posing as the official store of 8BitDo, the maker of game controllers and accessories. It targets fans and shoppers who search for 8BitDo gear and land on what looks like a legitimate brand shop. PhishDestroy first saw the site on 2026-10-16. It was still online with live content when last checked on 2026-10-19.

How the scam works

The page carries the title "8BitDo Shop | 8BitDo" and copies the brand's look so visitors believe they are buying directly from the manufacturer. The domain name echoes the brand and adds "official" to build trust. Fake storefronts like this typically draw buyers in with discounted controllers, then collect names, shipping addresses, email addresses and payment card details at checkout. Victims usually lose the money they paid, receive nothing or a counterfeit item, and may face further fraudulent charges or follow-up phishing using the data they entered.
