PhishDestroy threat report
biorbonline.shop is a fake online store that copies biOrb, the brand known for designer aquariums, terrariums and vivariums, down to the page title "biOrb - Vivariums, Terrariums and Aquariums | biOrb". It targets fishkeepers and reptile owners searching for biOrb products, especially anyone tempted by an unusually low price on an otherwise pricey tank. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-10-16. As of 2026-10-19 the site was still online with its shop content live.
Fake shops like this borrow a real brand's name, product photos and catalogue, then advertise steep discounts to pull buyers away from legitimate retailers. The victim fills a basket, enters a delivery address and pays, usually by card or another method that is hard to reverse. Then nothing arrives, or a cheap item unrelated to the order turns up. Beyond the lost payment, the buyer has handed over their name, address, phone, email and often full card details. Those can be reused for fraud or follow-up phishing.
urlscan.io rated the site malicious and specifically flagged it as a fake shop, which matches our classification. VirusTotal tells a different story: on 2026-10-16, none of its 92 engines flagged the domain. That gap is common for new storefront scams, which host no malware and so slip past most scanners, so a clean VirusTotal result should not reassure anyone here. The domain appears in three AlienVault OTX threat pulses, and PhishDestroy is currently the blocklist carrying it.
The domain was registered through Dynadot Inc. on 2026-04-14, about six months before we detected it. That suggests it was set up well in advance or traded on quietly before drawing attention. It is hosted on the Malakmadze Web LLC network in the United States. The site uses a free Let's Encrypt certificate, so the padlock in the browser only means the connection is encrypted. It says nothing about whether the shop is real.
Do not place orders on biorbonline.shop. If you already paid, contact your bank or card issuer right away, report the charge as fraud and request a chargeback, and ask for a replacement card if you entered card details. Expect phishing emails, texts or fake delivery messages using the contact details you gave. Change any password you created on the site if you reused it elsewhere. Defenders should block the domain and watch for similar lookalike domains imitating biOrb or other aquarium retailers.
