PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

arcus-stats.xyz is an impersonation phishing page that presents itself as "Arcus Stats", an analytics hub for Arcus wallet holders offering markets data and leaderboards. It targets people who already use Arcus and would expect a stats dashboard to ask them to connect a wallet. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-09-29, and the site was still online with its content live as of 2026-10-19.

How the scam works

Fake analytics and leaderboard sites borrow a wallet brand's name to look like a harmless companion tool. The pitch is to see your ranking, portfolio stats or market position, which can be done by connecting your wallet or signing in. That step is where the theft happens. The page may request a transaction or token approval that hands control of your funds to the operator, or ask for a recovery phrase under the pretext of syncing or verification. Victims can lose every asset that wallet controls, often within minutes and without any way to reverse it.

Evidence

On 2026-10-01, seven of 91 VirusTotal engines marked the domain as malicious: alphaMountain.ai, CRDF, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Gridinsoft, Kaspersky, SOCRadar and Sophos. Seven vendors, including several major security firms, independently reaching the same verdict within days of the domain's appearance corroborates our classification. The domain also appears in one AlienVault OTX threat pulse. Coverage on public blocklists is still thin, as PhishDestroy is the only list carrying it so far.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered through Name.com, Inc. on 2026-09-27, just two days before PhishDestroy detected it. That short gap is typical of throwaway domains built for one campaign rather than a real project. The site resolves to 216.198.79.65 on an Amazon.com, Inc. network in the United States. The cheap .xyz extension and the brand-plus-"stats" naming pattern fit a domain created to catch searches for Arcus tools.

What to do

If you connected a wallet to this site, immediately revoke any token approvals or permissions it may have obtained, using a reputable approval checker. Move your remaining assets to a fresh wallet if you signed anything you did not fully understand. If you typed in your recovery phrase, treat the wallet as compromised and transfer the funds out at once, because revoking approvals will not help. Use only Arcus links from official channels you already trust. Security teams should block arcus-stats.xyz and 216.198.79.65, watch for lookalike Arcus "stats" or "analytics" domains, and report the site to the registrar and hosting provider so it can be taken down.
