PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

applaudyboard.com is an impersonation phishing site. It is listed on the MetaMask and SEAL blocklists, which points to crypto wallet users as its main targets. PhishDestroy first detected it on 2026-10-07. On 2026-10-19 the site was still online and serving live content.

How the scam works

Impersonation pages copy the look of a trusted service so visitors believe they are on the real site. Victims are then pushed to enter login details or recovery phrases, or to connect a wallet and approve requests that hand control of their funds to the operator. When the page loads, it shows the title "Just a moment...", which is a browser-check interstitial rather than branded content, while our classification is impersonation phishing. Anything typed or signed past that point should be treated as exposed.

Evidence

On 2026-10-11, VirusTotal showed 10 of 92 engines flagging the domain. The detections came from several unrelated vendors: alphaMountain.ai, BitDefender, CRDF, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Fortinet, G-Data, Gridinsoft and Kaspersky. Two crypto-specific blocklists, MetaMask and SEAL, list it alongside PhishDestroy, so many wallet users will see a warning before the page loads. Four AlienVault OTX threat pulses also reference the domain, which shows other researchers have tracked it independently.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered through Cloudflare, Inc. on 2026-09-06. That is about a month before PhishDestroy caught it, which fits a site set up shortly before an active campaign. The site sits behind Cloudflare's network, with the address geolocated to Canada, so the real origin server is hidden from view. Its TLS certificate from Google Trust Services means the padlock icon only confirms an encrypted connection, not that the site is legitimate.

What to do

If you entered a password on this site, change it immediately wherever you reuse it and turn on two-factor authentication. If you typed a seed phrase, consider that wallet compromised and move any remaining assets to a newly created wallet. If you connected a wallet or signed anything, review and revoke token approvals you do not recognize. Security teams should block the domain at DNS and proxy level and add it to wallet and email filtering. Abuse reports to Cloudflare will help get it taken down while it remains live.
