PhishDestroy threat report
amitvaland1492.github.io is a phishing page that imitated Amazon. It was hosted on a free GitHub Pages subdomain and aimed at Amazon shoppers and account holders. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-09-06. The site went offline on 2026-09-11 and was still dead when last checked on 2026-10-19, with nothing served at its root.
Amazon impersonation pages are usually reached through emails or texts about a locked account, a failed payment or a suspicious order. The page copies Amazon's sign-in screen and asks for an email address and password, then often for card details or a one-time code to "verify" the account. With these credentials, attackers can take over the Amazon account, use saved payment methods, drain gift card balances or reuse the password on other services. The current page title reads "Site not found · GitHub Pages", which is GitHub's default error page, while our classification is based on the Amazon impersonation content that was detected earlier.
Twelve of 89 VirusTotal engines flagged the address in a check on 2026-09-11. The flagging engines included alphaMountain.ai, BitDefender, ESET, Emsisoft, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, G-Data, Gridinsoft and LevelBlue. Agreement across that many separate security vendors is strong for a short-lived subdomain. urlscan.io returned a malicious verdict and identified Amazon as the imitated brand, which matches our classification. The domain is listed on the PhishDestroy blocklist.
The page sat on github.io, GitHub's shared hosting domain. GitHub, Inc. is the registrar, and traffic is served from Fastly, Inc. infrastructure in the US. That setup costs the operator nothing and borrows GitHub's reputation, but a github.io address never belongs to Amazon. The site lasted only about five days between our first sighting and going offline, which is typical for disposable phishing pages.
If you entered your Amazon login here, change your Amazon password right away and change it on any other account that uses the same one. Turn on two-step verification and sign out of all devices from your account settings. Review recent orders, saved addresses, payment methods and gift card balance, and ask your bank to block or replace any card you typed in. Expect follow-up messages that pretend to be Amazon support, and do not click links in them. Security teams should block this hostname, search proxy and email logs for visits or links to it, and report any reappearing content to GitHub for removal.
