Overview

alphacore-tech.com is a fake crypto exchange that presented itself as "alphacore," an AI-powered trading platform. It targeted people looking for automated crypto trading or high passive returns. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-09-12. The site has been offline since 2026-10-14 and was still unreachable when checked on 2026-10-19.

How the scam works

The page title, "alphacore | AI Trading Platform | Official Website," shows the pitch: an algorithm that supposedly trades crypto for you and grows your balance. In schemes like this, victims open an account and deposit cryptocurrency. They then see a dashboard with fabricated profits that encourages larger top-ups. When they try to withdraw, the platform demands fees, taxes or verification payments, or simply stops responding. The deposited funds are lost, and any personal or identity documents submitted during sign-up can be reused for further fraud.

Evidence

VirusTotal shows 16 of 89 engines flagging the domain as of 2026-09-20. Vendors include ADMINUSLabs, alphaMountain.ai, BitDefender, Chong Lua Dao, ESET, Emsisoft, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker and Fortinet. The domain appears in 4 AlienVault OTX pulses and is listed on the PhishDestroy blocklist.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered on 2025-10-08 through MainReg Inc., nearly a year before PhishDestroy detected it. It was hosted at 185.62.57.40 on the Snel.com B.V. network in the Netherlands. Its TLS certificate was issued by ZeroSSL ECC DV SSL CA 2. A domain-validated certificate only confirms control of the domain, not the legitimacy of the business behind it.

What to do

If you deposited funds on alphacore-tech.com, stop sending money, including any "withdrawal fee" or "tax" requests, and record your transaction hashes, deposit addresses and chat logs. Report the loss to your national cybercrime unit, and alert the exchange you sent the funds from so it can flag the receiving addresses. If you reused a password there, change it everywhere and enable two-factor authentication. Be wary of "recovery services" that contact you afterward, because they are a common follow-up scam. Defenders should block the domain and its IP address, and should watch for new lookalike domains using the same alphacore branding.
