Overview

ablilancalifers.co.in is an impersonation phishing page that presents itself as a VPN download site under the title "Download VPN". It targets people looking for a VPN client, a group that includes many crypto users who rely on VPNs for privacy. PhishDestroy first flagged the domain on 2026-10-15. It was still online when checked on 2026-10-19.

How the scam works

Fake VPN download pages copy the look of a legitimate software site and push visitors to install a client they believe is genuine. In schemes of this type, the installer is typically a trojanized package. It can steal saved browser passwords, session cookies and locally stored crypto wallet files, or it can give attackers remote access to the machine. Some variants instead ask visitors to create an account or pay for a subscription, which captures credentials and card details. Victims can lose account access, stored credentials and any funds held in hot wallets on the compromised device.

On 2026-10-19, VirusTotal showed 3 of 92 engines flagging the domain: alphaMountain.ai, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker and SOCRadar. The domain was registered on 2026-07-15 through NAMECHEAP, three months before PhishDestroy detected it. It is hosted on Amazon.com, Inc. infrastructure in France at 13.36.139.59. Its TLS certificate was issued by Let's Encrypt (YE1), so the padlock in the browser says nothing about whether the site is legitimate.

What to do

Do not download anything from this site. If you already installed software from it, disconnect the device from the network and run a full scan with a reputable security tool. Reinstalling the operating system is the safest option. From a separate clean device, change your passwords, sign out of active sessions and enable app-based two-factor authentication. If a crypto wallet was installed on the affected machine, move the funds to a new wallet created on a clean device. Defenders should block the domain and its hosting IP and check endpoint logs for recent installers downloaded from it. Get VPN software only from the vendor's official website or a verified app store.
