PhishDestroy threat report
thriving-tarsier-58c180.netlify.app is an impersonation phishing page that mimicked Netflix. It was aimed at subscribers who could be lured into signing in or updating billing details. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-09-11. The site has been offline since 2026-09-26, and at the last check on 2026-10-19 its root returned no content.
Netflix lures usually arrive as an urgent message about a failed payment, a suspended membership or an account that needs verification. The link leads to a page dressed in Netflix branding that asks for an email and password and often card details to "restore" the account. Everything typed goes to the operator, who can take over the account, resell the login or use the card. The page carried the bare title "Document", a generic default, while urlscan.io identified Netflix branding in its content.
17 of 89 VirusTotal engines flagged the address as of 2026-09-20. They include BitDefender, ESET, Fortinet, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, G-Data, Emsisoft, CyRadar and alphaMountain.ai, which is broad agreement for a free-hosting subdomain. Google Safe Browsing lists it under SOCIAL_ENGINEERING, so Chrome and other browsers using that feed warned visitors. urlscan.io returned a malicious verdict and matched the Netflix brand, and the domain is on the PhishDestroy blocklist.
The site was a randomly named subdomain on Netlify's free static hosting rather than a registered domain, so creating it cost nothing. It could be deployed in minutes and abandoned just as quickly. It resolved to Amazon (AMAZON-02) infrastructure in Germany, where Netlify serves content. Its DigiCert certificate is Netlify's standard one, so the padlock said nothing about who ran the page. It stopped serving roughly two weeks after we first detected it.
If you entered your Netflix login here, change the password right away, along with any other account that shares it. Then use Netflix's option to sign out of all devices. If you submitted card details, call your bank to block the card and dispute any charges you do not recognise. Watch for follow-up emails or texts about "billing problems", and only manage your subscription through the official app or by typing the address yourself. Defenders should block the hostname, search mail and proxy logs for visits since 2026-09-11, and report new Netflix-themed lookalikes on Netlify to the host's abuse team.
