How the scam works
The page title, "Discount Codes & Referral Codes – Verified", describes a bargain-hunting coupon site, while our classification is impersonation phishing. Schemes of this type use the promise of a bonus, discount or signup code to send visitors to pages that copy a legitimate service. Victims are then asked to log in, enter account details or connect a wallet to "claim" the reward. Depending on what the victim provides, they can lose account access, personal data or funds held in a connected wallet.
Evidence
Ten of 91 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain in a scan on 2026-10-06. The flagging vendors include alphaMountain.ai, Bfore.Ai PreCrime, BitDefender, CRDF, ESET, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Fortinet and G-Data, a mix of established antivirus companies and predictive threat-intelligence services. Spamhaus lists it in its Domain Blocklist under the phishing category. Besides PhishDestroy, the MetaMask and SEAL blocklists include the domain, and it appears in four AlienVault OTX threat pulses. Together these give the classification independent support from several sources.
Infrastructure
The domain was registered through Namecheap on 2026-05-06, about five months before PhishDestroy detected it. The site sits behind Cloudflare's network in the US, which hides the origin server's real location. A gap like this between registration and detection is consistent with a domain that was held for months before going into active use.
What to do
If you entered a username and password on salecode.cc, change that password right away, along with any other account that shares it, and turn on app-based two-factor authentication. If you connected a wallet or signed anything there, review and revoke the token approvals granted during that session. If you signed a transaction you did not understand, move any remaining assets to a fresh wallet. Do not redeem codes from the site or follow its links to other services. Security teams should block the domain at DNS and proxy level and check logs for users who visited it.
