PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

rupocia.com is an impersonation phishing site that copied the look of a legitimate service so visitors would trust it with sensitive information. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-09-16, and it went offline the next day, 2026-09-17. When last checked on 2026-10-19 the site was still dead, with its content blocked by the provider. Anyone who reached it during its active window should treat what they entered as exposed.

How the scam works

Impersonation pages borrow the name, layout and tone of a real brand, then ask visitors to sign in, verify an account or restore a wallet. Whatever is typed into those forms, such as passwords, one-time codes or recovery phrases, goes straight to the operators, who use it to take over accounts or empty wallets. The page title on rupocia.com was the bland "Home - rupocia" and named only the site itself, while we classified the page as impersonation phishing based on its behavior.

Evidence

Seventeen of 89 security engines on VirusTotal marked the domain malicious as of 2026-09-18. These included ESET, BitDefender, Fortinet, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, alphaMountain.ai, CRDF, CyRadar and the Vietnamese anti-scam group Chong Lua Dao. A spread of vendors this wide, from large antivirus firms to regional scam trackers, reached the same verdict independently. The domain also appears in four AlienVault OTX threat pulses and on the PhishDestroy blocklist.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered through Namecheap on 2026-06-12, about three months before it was detected. Sites that sit unused for weeks and then turn up as phishing are often staged in advance. The site was served from Cloudflare's network, with the address attributed to Canada. This setup hid the origin server behind a shared front end.

What to do

If you entered a password on rupocia.com, change it immediately on the real service and on any other account that uses the same password. Then turn on app-based two-factor authentication. If you typed in a wallet recovery phrase, consider that wallet compromised and move any remaining assets to a new wallet created from a fresh phrase. Review recent logins and transactions for activity you don't recognize. Defenders should block the domain at DNS and the proxy and search email and web logs for visits since 2026-06-12. Report any matching lookalike domains to their registrar and hosting provider.
