PhishDestroy threat report
netfxclone.netlify.app is an impersonation phishing page that copied the look of Netflix to deceive the service's subscribers. PhishDestroy first saw it on 2026-09-11. It went offline on 2026-09-12, and on 2026-10-19 the address returned no content at its root. The page title read "Netflix Clone," a label often used for coding demos, but scanners identified Netflix branding and the page was flagged for social engineering, so we classified it as impersonation.
Fake Netflix pages usually reach victims through messages about a failed payment, a suspended account or a membership that needs confirming. The link leads to a familiar-looking Netflix sign-in screen. Anything typed into it goes to the operator, not to Netflix. That usually means the email and password first, and often a follow-up form asking for card details to fix billing. A stolen login can be resold or used to try the same password on other services, and card data leads directly to fraudulent charges.
Sixteen of 89 VirusTotal engines flagged the site on 2026-09-11, the same day PhishDestroy recorded it. The flagging vendors included BitDefender, ESET, Fortinet, G-Data, Emsisoft, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, alphaMountain.ai and Google Safe Browsing. Google Safe Browsing listed it under SOCIAL_ENGINEERING, its category for deceptive pages that trick users into handing over information. urlscan.io rated it malicious and detected Netflix branding on the page, which independently confirms the impersonation.
The site ran on a free Netlify subdomain, so the operator never had to register a domain. That makes this kind of page fast to launch and easy to abandon, and this one was gone the day after it was detected. The hosting sat on Amazon's AMAZON-02 network in Germany. Its DigiCert certificate came with the hosting platform, so the padlock in the browser said nothing about whether the page was genuine.
If you entered your Netflix login on this page, change your Netflix password through the official app or by typing the address yourself. Then use the option to sign out of all devices and change the password anywhere else you used it. If you submitted card details, call your bank to block the card and dispute any charges you don't recognize. Be wary of follow-up emails or texts that mention your account. Security teams should block the hostname, search mail logs for messages linking to it, and treat Netflix-themed subdomains on free hosting platforms as high-risk.
