PhishDestroy threat report
ledger-8c31.pages.dev is a phishing page that impersonates Ledger, the hardware wallet maker, and targets people who keep crypto on Ledger devices. PhishDestroy first saw it on 2026-09-01. The site has been offline since 2026-09-11 after its hosting provider blocked the content, and it was still down at the last check on 2026-10-19. The page title now reads "Suspected Phishing | Cloudflare", which is the provider's warning page rather than Ledger-branded content.
Ledger impersonation pages copy the brand's look and claim the visitor must verify, sync or restore their device, usually blaming a security alert or firmware problem. The goal is to get the 24-word recovery phrase typed into a web form, or to get a wallet connected and a transaction signed. A recovery phrase gives full control of every account derived from it, so whoever receives it can empty the wallet without touching the physical device. Ledger never asks for a recovery phrase on a website.
On 2026-09-13, 12 of 89 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain. Those vendors included alphaMountain.ai, Ermes, ESET, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Fortinet, G-Data, Gridinsoft and Kaspersky. Several unrelated security vendors reached the same conclusion. urlscan.io returned a malicious verdict, though the only brand it recognised was Cloudflare's own block page. The domain also sits on the MetaMask and SEAL blocklists alongside PhishDestroy's.
The site was created on 2026-08-21, eleven days before PhishDestroy flagged it. It ran for about three weeks in total before being taken offline. It was deployed on Cloudflare Pages, a free static hosting service whose subdomains cost nothing to create. The "ledger-" prefix plus a random suffix is a common way to make a throwaway site that looks official. It was served from Cloudflare's network, geolocated to Canada.
If you entered your recovery phrase on this page, treat the wallet as compromised. Reset your Ledger with a brand-new phrase, then move any remaining funds to the new accounts immediately. Never reuse the exposed phrase. If you connected a wallet or signed anything, review and revoke token approvals with a reputable approval checker. Security teams should block the domain and watch for similar pages.dev subdomains that combine wallet brand names with random strings.
