PhishDestroy threat report
green-dot-web.netlify.app is a free Netlify subdomain whose name borrows the Green Dot brand. Green Dot is known for prepaid debit cards and online banking. PhishDestroy classifies it as an impersonation phishing page aimed at people who would trust a site that looks like Green Dot. We first saw it on 2026-08-31. It has been offline since 2026-09-09 and was still dead at the last check on 2026-10-19.
Impersonation pages like this copy the look of a real brand's sign-in or account screen. Visitors then type in what they would give the genuine service: usernames, passwords, one-time codes, card numbers or personal details. Those details go straight to the operator, who can use them to take over the account or drain the card balance. The page now only shows Netlify's "Site not found" title, while our classification rests on the impersonation content the site served while it was live.
Sixteen of 89 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain as of 2026-09-10. The vendors included BitDefender, ESET, Fortinet, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, alphaMountain.ai, Criminal IP, CyRadar and Ermes. That is a solid spread of independent vendors for a short-lived subdomain. Google Safe Browsing lists it under SOCIAL_ENGINEERING, so Chrome, Firefox and Safari users would have seen a warning page. It is also on the PhishDestroy blocklist.
The operator never bought a domain. They put the page on a Netlify subdomain, a free and fast setup that is easy to throw away. Traffic resolved to Amazon infrastructure in Germany, which serves Netlify's platform. The site went dark nine days after we first saw it, a typical lifespan for disposable phishing pages hosted on someone else's platform.
If you entered a Green Dot login on this site, change that password right away, along with any other account that reuses it. Turn on two-factor authentication. If you typed card numbers, a PIN or identity details, contact Green Dot through the number on the back of your card or the official app. Ask them to lock or replace the card, and watch your transactions for charges you don't recognise. Treat any follow-up call or text claiming to be Green Dot support as a likely second attempt. Defenders should block the hostname and treat other Green Dot-themed Netlify subdomains with suspicion.
