How the scam works
Impersonation sites rely on looking familiar. A victim arrives through a link in a chat, an ad or a social media reply and sees what appears to be a real service. The site then asks the victim to log in, verify an account or enter wallet details. Anything typed into it, including passwords, one-time codes or a recovery phrase, goes directly to the operators, who use it to take over accounts or empty wallets.
Evidence
VirusTotal detection is low. Only 2 of 89 engines, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker and SOCRadar, flagged the domain when it was checked on 2026-09-22, so most scanners will not warn visitors. Spamhaus gives a stronger signal: its Domain Block List lists ddnweb3.com in the phishing category (DBL_PHISH). The domain also appears in 4 AlienVault OTX threat pulses, which means other researchers have tracked it independently of the PhishDestroy listing.
Infrastructure
The domain was registered through Spaceship, Inc. on 2026-01-29, about seven months before PhishDestroy detected it. That gap suggests the domain was registered well in advance and held until it was needed, not created on the day of a campaign. It is hosted on the CTGNet network in Hong Kong and uses a domain-validated Sectigo certificate. That certificate only gives the site a browser padlock and does not show who runs it.
What to do
If you entered a password on ddnweb3.com, change it on the real service and on any other account where you used the same password. Then enable app-based 2FA and sign out all active sessions. If you typed a wallet recovery phrase or private key, treat that wallet as compromised and move your funds to a new wallet created on a clean device. Defenders should block the domain at DNS and the web proxy and watch for it becoming active again. Because so few antivirus engines flag it, the Spamhaus listing is the more useful detection signal.
