How the scam works
Fake "official links" portals exploit a common habit. Fans of unofficial streaming apps often cannot find them in mainstream app stores, so they search for a trusted download page. A lookalike domain bundles apps, downloads and Telegram links under the brand's name, and every button becomes a chance to hand visitors an installer, a login prompt or a channel the operators control. A victim can end up with an untrusted app on their phone, exposed account credentials, or a path into further scams pushed through those channels.
Evidence
Six of 91 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain as of 2026-10-03: CRDF, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Gridinsoft, SOCRadar, URLQuery and VIPRE. That is a modest share, but it is consistent across unrelated vendors. Beyond PhishDestroy, the domain appears on the MetaMask and SEAL blocklists, which are maintained by crypto-security teams and protect wallet users. It is also referenced in three AlienVault OTX threat pulses, so other researchers have tracked it independently.
Infrastructure
The domain was registered on 2026-06-17 through Fewmoretaps OU, which trades as Trustname.com. It ran for roughly three months before PhishDestroy caught it, long enough to collect search traffic from fans hunting for Cricfy. The site sits behind Cloudflare's network on an address geolocated to Canada, which hides the real origin server. Its Google Trust Services certificate is the automated kind that comes with that setup, so the browser padlock says nothing about whether the site is genuine.
What to do
If you installed anything from this site, uninstall it and run a mobile security scan. Review the permissions you granted the app. If you typed a password or email login there, change it right away, starting with any account that reuses the same password, and turn on two-factor authentication. Leave any Telegram channels or groups you joined through the page, and ignore follow-up messages offering streams, premium access or payments.
