PhishDestroy threat report
bmix.io presents itself as BMIX, a "next-generation Bitcoin mixer and anonymizer" according to its French-language page title. PhishDestroy classifies it as an impersonation phishing page that trades on the Bitcoin brand. It targets French-speaking Bitcoin holders who want to obscure the trail of their coins. We first flagged it on 2026-09-17, and as of 2026-10-19 the site was still online and serving content.
The page title advertises a mixing service rather than a direct copy of a Bitcoin property, though we classify the site as Bitcoin impersonation. Fake mixers of this kind generally ask the visitor to send BTC to a deposit address on the promise that clean, unlinked coins will be returned minus a small fee. Bitcoin transfers are irreversible, so once coins are sent, the operator can simply keep them. Victims rarely report the loss because they sought privacy in the first place, which makes this lure especially attractive to scammers.
Seven of 91 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain as of 2026-09-27: BitDefender, CRDF, ESET, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, G-Data, SOCRadar and VIPRE. That count is modest, so many browsers and security tools will not warn visitors. However, the spread across independent vendors supports the classification. The domain appears in four AlienVault OTX threat pulses, and PhishDestroy lists it on its own blocklist.
The domain was registered through Namecheap on 2025-07-28, more than a year before we detected it. A gap that long suggests a domain held in reserve or run quietly until it drew attention. It resolves to an AlexHost SRL network in Moldova. The site has a free Let's Encrypt certificate, so the browser padlock only means the connection is encrypted and says nothing about whether the service is honest.
Do not send any Bitcoin to addresses shown on bmix.io, and do not send more coins if the site asks for an extra fee to release a stalled mix. If you already sent funds, record the transaction IDs and deposit addresses. Report them to your local cybercrime unit and to any exchange your coins may pass through. Be wary of anyone who contacts you offering to recover the funds, because recovery scams commonly follow mixer losses. Defenders should block bmix.io at DNS and proxy level and add it to phishing feeds.

This report combines saved page captures, registration and network records, scanner results and PhishDestroy reporting history. Each source keeps its own observation date. Open a source report to inspect the original result.
The AI-assisted analysis was written on . It describes the evidence available at that time; later source checks can change.
A capture documents what was shown. A scanner result records that provider’s assessment at the time of its check. Neither a valid certificate nor a zero-detection result is a guarantee of safety.
