PhishDestroy threat report
bit-web3.com is an impersonation phishing page that presents itself under the misspelled title 'Bit-Wb3'. It mimics a Web3 crypto service and targets wallet holders who expect a legitimate platform. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-09-15. As of 2026-10-19 the domain still responds, but its phishing content is no longer being served.
Sites like this copy the look and name of a crypto brand closely enough that a hurried visitor believes they are in the right place. The dropped letter in 'Bit-Wb3' is a typical sign of a quickly assembled lookalike. Once trust is established, the page asks the visitor to connect a wallet, sign a transaction, or type in a recovery phrase or login. Whatever is handed over gives the operators control of the victim's wallet or account, and any funds that move are effectively unrecoverable.
Twelve of 91 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain on 2026-09-25, including Kaspersky, BitDefender, Fortinet, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, G-Data, Gridinsoft, CRDF and alphaMountain.ai. That is a modest share of engines, but the detections come from established vendors that work independently of each other. Spamhaus lists the domain in its DBL as phishing. It also appears on the MetaMask and SEAL blocklists, which are maintained specifically for crypto and wallet threats, and it is referenced in six AlienVault OTX threat pulses.
The domain was registered through Name.com, Inc. on 2026-08-15, exactly one month before PhishDestroy detected it. That short gap is typical of throwaway phishing domains set up for a single campaign. Traffic runs through Cloudflare, Inc., with the address geolocated to Canada, so the true origin server is hidden behind the proxy.
If you connected a wallet to this site, revoke any token approvals it obtained right away and move your remaining assets to a fresh wallet. If you typed in a seed phrase, treat that wallet as compromised regardless of its current balance. If you entered a password or exchange login, change it, enable app-based 2FA and review recent account activity. Security teams should block the domain at DNS and proxy level, add it to wallet and browser blocklists, and watch for related lookalike names using the same Bit-Web3 pattern.
