PhishDestroy threat report
autoconfig.190842-coinbase.com is an impersonation phishing page posing as Coinbase and aimed at the exchange's customers. The registered domain, 190842-coinbase.com, has no connection to Coinbase. It only pairs the brand name with a string of digits, and the "autoconfig" label in front makes the address look like routine technical infrastructure. PhishDestroy first saw it on 2026-10-06. It was still online and serving content when last checked on 2026-10-19.
Pages like this copy Coinbase's look closely enough that a visitor arriving from an email, text or search ad believes they are signing in to their real account. Anything typed into the fake form goes straight to the operators. That includes the email address, the password and often the one-time 2FA code, which lets them log in to the genuine account while the code is still valid. Once inside, they can move crypto out of the account. Funds sent from a compromised exchange account are rarely recoverable.
Google Safe Browsing flags the site for social engineering, and Spamhaus lists the domain in its DBL as phishing. On 2026-10-07, VirusTotal showed 15 of 92 engines marking it malicious, including BitDefender, CRDF, ESET, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Fortinet, G-Data, Google Safe Browsing and Gridinsoft. These verdicts come from vendors working independently of one another. Together with the PhishDestroy listing, they leave little doubt about what the page is for.
The domain was registered on 2026-06-11 through OwnRegistrar, Inc., nearly four months before PhishDestroy caught it. That gap suggests the name was held ready before being put to use. Traffic runs through Cloudflare (AS13335) in the US, which hides the server that actually hosts the page. The padlock comes from a Google Trust Services certificate, so the browser shows a secure connection even though the site is fraudulent.
If you entered your Coinbase login here, change the password immediately from Coinbase's official app or a bookmarked address, and do the same anywhere else you reuse it. Reset your 2FA, preferably to an authenticator app or security key instead of SMS. Then review recent sign-ins, linked devices, API keys and withdrawal addresses, and contact Coinbase support if you see activity you don't recognize. Security teams should block the domain and its parent 190842-coinbase.com, and search mail and proxy logs for users who reached it.
