Overview

altura-trade.net presented itself as "Altura Trade," a platform promising yield generation on stablecoins. PhishDestroy first identified it on 2026-09-05 and classified it as a crypto wallet drainer. The site is now offline, having gone dark on 2026-10-14, confirmed as of 2026-10-19.

How the scam works

Wallet drainers lure victims with promises of passive income or yield on crypto assets, then prompt them to connect their Web3 wallet and sign one or more transactions. Those transactions, often disguised as routine approvals or deposits, grant the attacker permission to transfer tokens out of the victim's wallet automatically. In this case the bait was stablecoin yield, a credible hook designed to attract holders of assets like USDC or USDT who believe they are entering a legitimate DeFi protocol. Once approvals are signed, funds can be swept without any further interaction from the victim.

Evidence

Six of 89 engines on VirusTotal flagged this domain as malicious as of 2026-09-13; vendors include alphaMountain.ai, CRDF, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Fortinet, Gridinsoft, and SOCRadar. Spamhaus DBL lists it under the DBL_PHISH category, and four OTX pulses have been published against it. The domain appears on the PhishDestroy, MetaMask, and SEAL blocklists, meaning MetaMask users with up-to-date protection would have received an in-wallet warning before connecting.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered on 2026-07-08 through Fewmoretaps OU doing business as Trustname.com, giving operators roughly two months of lead time before PhishDestroy detected it. Hosting ran on IP 154.86.119.241 within the ExpressHost Ltd network in the Netherlands. TLS was provided by Let's Encrypt under the YE2 intermediate, a free certificate that adds no identity verification.

If you visited this site and connected a wallet, act immediately: open your wallet's token approval manager and revoke every approval granted around the time of your visit, paying particular attention to unlimited spend allowances. Use a dedicated approval-revocation tool compatible with your wallet to audit all active permissions. If you entered any account credentials or personal information, treat them as compromised and change passwords on any service where they are reused. Security teams and threat hunters should add the domain and its hosting IP to blocklists and review network logs for connections to 154.86.119.241 between 2026-07-08 and 2026-10-14.
