Overview

zahabaiplatform.com is a fake crypto exchange that presented itself as Zahab AI, a smart AI-powered crypto trading platform based in the UAE. It targeted people looking for automated, high-return crypto trading, especially in or around the Emirates. PhishDestroy first detected it on 2026-09-20. The site has been offline since 2026-09-21 after its content was blocked by the provider, and it was still down when last checked on 2026-10-19.

How the scam works

The page title, "Zahab AI | Smart AI-Powered Crypto Trading Platform in UAE", shows the lure: an artificial intelligence bot that supposedly trades crypto for you and generates steady profits. Schemes of this type ask visitors to register an account and deposit cryptocurrency or fiat. A dashboard then shows rising balances and fabricated trading gains. When victims try to withdraw, the platform invents fees, taxes or verification charges, or simply freezes the account. Every deposit is lost, along with any identity documents or personal details submitted during sign-up.

Evidence

VirusTotal flagged the domain with 14 of 89 engines on 2026-09-21. The flagging vendors include alphaMountain.ai, BitDefender, CRDF, ESET, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Fortinet, G-Data and Gridinsoft. The domain appears in 5 AlienVault OTX threat pulses and is listed on the PhishDestroy blocklist.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered on 2026-05-27 through Dynadot Inc, roughly four months before it was detected. It resolved to Cloudflare, Inc. network space, with the address geolocated to Canada. Its TLS certificate came from Let's Encrypt (YE1), so the padlock in the browser said nothing about the site's legitimacy.
