PhishDestroy threat report
webinternationalfin.org presented itself as "Web International Finance," a digital bank "dedicated to innovating, simplifying, and humanizing digital banking." PhishDestroy classifies it as an impersonation phishing page built to look like a legitimate online bank and aimed at people searching for banking or account services. We first flagged it on 2026-10-05. The site has been offline since 2026-10-16 and was still unreachable on 2026-10-19.
Fake banks like this rely on a polished landing page and reassuring fintech slogans to appear trustworthy. Visitors are pushed to open an account, log in, or move money. In doing so they may hand over login credentials, personal details, identity documents or card data, or send deposits that can never be withdrawn. urlscan.io matched the page to a generic banking template, which means it copied the look of a bank rather than one specific institution. The impersonated identity is the invented "Web International Finance" name itself.
Nine of 92 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain as of 2026-10-07. The flagging vendors include ESET, Netcraft, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, alphaMountain.ai, Gridinsoft, Hunt.io Intelligence, SOCRadar and URLQuery. That is a modest count, but it comes from a mix of established security vendors and phishing-focused scanners. urlscan.io returned a malicious verdict, and the domain appears in two AlienVault OTX threat pulses alongside the PhishDestroy blocklist.
The domain was registered through Dynadot Inc on 2026-10-01, only four days before PhishDestroy detected it. That short gap is typical of throwaway phishing domains set up for a quick campaign. It was hosted in the United States on the Aquiryn LLC network and used a free Let's Encrypt certificate. The padlock icon therefore only meant the connection was encrypted, not that the bank was genuine. The site was live for about two weeks before going dark.
If you entered a password on this site, change it immediately anywhere you reused it, and turn on two-factor authentication. If you shared card or bank details, or sent money, contact your real bank right away to block the card, dispute the transfers and watch for unauthorized activity. If you uploaded ID documents, treat your identity as exposed: consider a credit freeze and stay alert for follow-up calls or emails claiming to be from "Web International Finance." Do not pay any "release" or "verification" fees to recover funds. Defenders should block the domain and its hosting IP, and search mail and proxy logs for earlier contact with it.
