How the scam works

Independent scanners back our classification. On 2026-10-16, 18 of 92 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain, including BitDefender, Fortinet, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Emsisoft, G-Data, alphaMountain.ai, CRDF and CyRadar. Agreement across that many unrelated vendors is a strong signal for a domain this obscure. It also appears in two AlienVault OTX threat pulses and on the PhishDestroy blocklist.
Infrastructure
The domain was registered on 2025-11-25 through Metaregistrar BV, almost eleven months before it came to our attention. That long gap suggests the name was held in reserve or used quietly before this campaign. It was served from Amazon cloud space in the US (AMAZON-AES), which is quick to set up and easy to abandon. Its Sectigo domain-validated certificate gave visitors a padlock icon, but that certificate only proves control of the domain, not the identity of whoever runs it.
What to do
If you entered a password on wbacq.com, change it right away on the real service and on any site where you reused it. Enable or reset 2FA, and sign out of all active sessions. If you typed a wallet recovery phrase, consider that wallet compromised and move any remaining funds to a new wallet created from a fresh phrase. Watch your accounts for unfamiliar logins or withdrawals, and report any losses to the service that was impersonated.
