vngoldbuy.com is an impersonation phishing page that presents itself under the name VNXCOMEX, a trading-platform style brand. The domain name pitches gold buying, and urlscan.io matched the page to generic crypto branding, so the targets are people looking to trade gold or crypto online. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-10-11. As of 2026-10-19 the domain still resolves, but its page content no longer loads.
How the scam works
Sites like this copy the look of a legitimate exchange or commodities platform, here under the VNXCOMEX banner, to win a visitor's trust. Victims are typically asked to register, hand over login or personal details, and fund an account. The dashboard then shows balances that do not exist. Money sent in is lost, and attempts to withdraw are usually met with new "fees" or "taxes" that only add to the loss. Any credentials entered can also be reused against the victim's other accounts.
Evidence
On 2026-10-12, 14 of 92 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain, including BitDefender, Fortinet, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, G-Data, Gridinsoft, CRDF, alphaMountain.ai and Google Safe Browsing. Google Safe Browsing lists it for social engineering, and urlscan.io returned a malicious verdict. Spamhaus carries it on the DBL as phishing. MetaMask and SEAL both blocklist it alongside PhishDestroy, so many wallet users will see a warning before the page opens. It also appears in three AlienVault OTX threat pulses.
Infrastructure
The domain was registered through GoDaddy.com, LLC on 2026-08-16, about eight weeks before it was detected. That gap fits a site that was set up and left to sit before being pushed to victims. It runs on Contabo Asia Private Limited servers in Singapore at 217.216.32.97, a rented VPS rather than the infrastructure a real exchange would operate. Its free Let's Encrypt certificate means the padlock in the browser says nothing about legitimacy.
What to do
Do not deposit anything further, and do not pay any "withdrawal fee" or "unlock" charge the site or its support agents demand, because those payments are never returned. If you entered a password, change it everywhere you reused it and turn on two-factor authentication. Contact your bank or payment provider about any transfers, and keep receipts and chat logs for a police report. Security teams should block the domain and its IP at DNS and proxy level and check logs for users who visited it.
