PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

This is a phishing page posing as a Microsoft account login. It is aimed at Spanish-speaking users, who are lured with an "account verification" pretext. The hostname spells Microsoft with a zero in place of the second "o" and opens with "verificarcuenta" ("verify account"). PhishDestroy first saw it on 2026-09-29, and it was still online and serving its phishing content on 2026-10-19.

How the scam works

Victims usually arrive from an email or text claiming their Microsoft account needs verification. The link opens a page titled "Iniciar sesión en la cuenta" ("Sign in to the account") that copies Microsoft's sign-in flow. Whatever email and password are typed there go straight to the operators. A stolen Microsoft login can expose Outlook mail, OneDrive files and any service tied to that account, including password resets for other sites.

Evidence

Seven of 91 VirusTotal engines flagged the page as of 2026-10-01: BitDefender, Emsisoft, Fortinet, Gridinsoft, Kaspersky, Netcraft and Webroot. That count is modest, but it includes major vendors whose blocking reaches many browsers and endpoints. urlscan.io rated the page malicious and identified Microsoft as the brand being imitated. Spamhaus lists the domain in its DBL as phishing (DBL_PHISH), and it also appears on the Phishunt and PhishDestroy blocklists.

Infrastructure

The page sits on a subdomain of zya.me and is served from 185.27.134.231 on the Wildcard UK Limited network in Great Britain. Its TLS certificate is a domain-validated one from ZeroSSL. That means the browser padlock only shows the connection is encrypted, not that the site belongs to Microsoft.

What to do

If you entered your password here, change it right away from Microsoft's official site and sign out of all other sessions. Turn on two-factor authentication, ideally with an authenticator app. Then check your recent sign-in activity, mail forwarding rules and recovery details for changes you did not make. Change the password on any other service where you reused it. Defenders should block the hostname and 185.27.134.231 at the proxy and DNS layers, search mail logs for messages linking to it, and reset credentials for any user who clicked through.
