PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

vault-tradefxpro.com presents itself as "Vault Trade Fx Pro", a CFD trading platform offering stocks, gold, oil and indices. It targets retail investors and crypto holders looking for leveraged trading. PhishDestroy classifies it as an impersonation phishing page and first flagged it on 2026-09-30. When last checked on 2026-10-19, the domain was still registered but its DNS was inactive, so the page was not loading. It could be reactivated at any time.

How the scam works

Fake CFD brokers like this one copy the look and vocabulary of regulated trading firms to appear credible. Visitors are pushed to open an account, hand over identity details, and fund it by card, bank transfer or crypto. The dashboard then shows invented profits to encourage larger deposits. When the victim tries to withdraw, new "taxes", "verification" or "withdrawal fees" appear, and the deposited money never comes back. The page title advertises a trading service, which matches the broker theme that we classify as impersonation phishing.

Evidence

On 2026-10-03, seven of 91 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain: alphaMountain.ai, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Gridinsoft, Netcraft, SOCRadar, URLQuery and desenmascara.me. That is a modest count, but it comes from several independent phishing and fraud specialists, so it is more than a single outlier. urlscan.io returned a malicious verdict and tagged the page as a generic scam. The domain also appears in two AlienVault OTX threat pulses and on the PhishDestroy blocklist.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered on 2026-09-29 through PDR Ltd. (PublicDomainRegistry.com). It was already serving the scam page and was detected the next day, which is the usual pattern for disposable fraud domains. It was hosted at 198.251.89.30 on the FranTech Solutions network in Luxembourg.

What to do

If you deposited money, stop sending funds immediately and ignore any request for withdrawal fees, taxes or account "unlocking" payments, because paying them only increases the loss. Contact your bank or card issuer to dispute the charges, and report the scheme to your national financial regulator and police. If you uploaded ID documents, watch for identity misuse and be wary of "recovery agents" who contact you, since they are often the same fraudsters. Change any password you reused on the site. Security teams should block the domain and the IP above, and check logs for users who visited after 2026-09-29.
