PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

us59webzoom.us is a phishing page that impersonated Zoom, presenting itself under the plain page title "Zoom" to anyone who landed on it. Its target was people expecting to join a Zoom meeting or sign in to a Zoom account. PhishDestroy flagged it on 2026-09-25, the same day the domain was registered. The site is now dead: its DNS stopped resolving and it has been offline since 2026-10-19.

How the scam works

Fake Zoom pages are usually reached through a meeting invite sent by email, chat or a social contact. The victim sees what looks like a Zoom join or sign-in screen and is asked either to enter account credentials or to download a supposed client or update before the call can start. Credentials typed into the page go straight to the operators. A forced download is often malware that can harvest saved passwords, browser sessions and crypto wallet data. The listing of this domain by MetaMask and SEAL suggests it was relevant to crypto users, a group often targeted with fake meeting lures.

Evidence

Infrastructure

The domain was registered on 2026-09-25 through PDR Ltd. d/b/a PublicDomainRegistry.com and was detected the same day. That points to a throwaway domain built to run a short campaign. The "us59web" prefix mimics the numbered regional subdomains that real Zoom meeting links use, which helps the address pass a quick glance. It was hosted on RouterHosting LLC in the United Arab Emirates and served over a free Let's Encrypt certificate, so a padlock icon proved nothing about who ran it.

What to do

If you entered your Zoom password here, change it now, along with any other account that shares it. Turn on two-factor authentication and sign out of all active Zoom sessions. If you downloaded and ran anything from the page, treat the device as compromised: scan it, then change passwords for email, banking and exchange accounts from a clean device. Move any crypto held in wallets on that machine to new wallets created on a clean device. Defenders should block the domain, search mail and chat logs for invites that pointed to it, and remind staff that real Zoom links never require a separate download from an unfamiliar site.
