PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

trustwallet-neon.vercel.app is an impersonation phishing page built to look like Trust Wallet, under the page title "Transfer Trust Wallet." It targets Trust Wallet users who think they are moving or migrating their funds. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-09-11. The site went offline on 2026-09-19, the hosting provider has blocked its content, and it was still dead when last checked on 2026-10-19.

How the scam works

The "Transfer Trust Wallet" title frames the page as an official transfer or migration step. Fake wallet pages of this kind usually ask for the 12- or 24-word recovery phrase, a private key, or a wallet connection so the transfer can supposedly be completed. A recovery phrase gives the attacker full control of the wallet. They can empty it from their own device, and the victim has no way to reverse the loss. Trust Wallet never asks for a recovery phrase on a website.

Evidence

Twenty of 89 VirusTotal engines classified the page as malicious on 2026-09-20. The flagging vendors include BitDefender, ESET, Emsisoft, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Criminal IP, alphaMountain.ai, AlphaSOC and Ermes. That level of agreement across unrelated security vendors is strong for a short-lived phishing page. ScamSniffer, a feed focused on Web3 fraud, lists the domain alongside PhishDestroy.

Infrastructure

The page ran as a subdomain on Vercel's free hosting platform, served from Amazon network address space in the United States. Free app-hosting subdomains let operators launch a convincing brand-named page in minutes without registering a domain, and the default certificate gives it the padlock any visitor expects. The page lasted about eight days after PhishDestroy first saw it before the provider took it down.

What to do

If you typed your recovery phrase or private key into this page, treat the wallet as compromised. Create a new wallet with a fresh phrase on a trusted device and move any remaining assets there immediately. If you only connected a wallet, revoke token approvals you do not recognize with a reputable approval-checking tool. Watch for follow-up messages offering "recovery help," which are a common second scam. Defenders should block the subdomain and watch for similar Trust Wallet-themed names on free hosting platforms.
