Overview

trezoio-started.blogspot.it is an impersonation phishing page hosted on Google's Blogger platform. Its name echoes Trezor's official device setup page, so it is aimed at people who have just bought a Trezor hardware wallet and are searching for setup instructions. PhishDestroy first saw it on 2026-09-01. On 2026-10-19 the site was still alive and redirecting visitors elsewhere.

How the scam works

Fake Trezor setup pages copy the look of the real onboarding flow and steer new owners into a fake initialization or recovery step. That step usually asks the victim to type in their 12-, 18- or 24-word recovery seed, or pushes a counterfeit wallet app that does the same. Anyone holding the seed can empty every account on the device, so a single submission hands the attacker the whole wallet. The page title is only the .com address of the same Blogspot blog, so the title itself offers no branding.

Evidence

On 2026-09-13, 11 of 89 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain. Those engines included alphaMountain.ai, BitDefender, CyRadar, ESET, Emsisoft, Fortinet, Lionic and Netcraft. Several of these are established phishing feeds, which supports the impersonation verdict even though most engines had not caught up yet. PhishDestroy lists the domain on its blocklist.

Infrastructure

This is a free Blogspot subdomain, not a domain the operator registered. The MarkMonitor International Limited registration and the Google LLC hosting in the US belong to Blogger itself. The Google Trust Services certificate is issued automatically to every Blogspot site, so the padlock in the browser says nothing about whether the page is legitimate. Free blog hosting lets scammers launch lookalike pages quickly at no cost, under a trusted parent domain.

What to do

If you typed your recovery seed into this page, treat the wallet as compromised. Set up a fresh wallet with a new seed and move any remaining funds there immediately, because the old seed cannot be secured again. If you installed software the page offered, remove it and scan your computer. Get Trezor Suite only from Trezor's official channels, and remember that no genuine setup step ever asks you to type your seed into a website. Defenders should block this subdomain, report it to Blogger for removal and watch for similar lookalike Blogspot names targeting hardware wallet users.
