PhishDestroy threat report
thelansbankse.com is an impersonation phishing domain dressed up as a bank. Its name reads like a retail bank brand, and urlscan.io matched its content to generic banking templates. It targets people who think they are signing in to their bank. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-10-01, and on 2026-10-19 the site was still online and redirecting visitors.
Bank impersonation sites usually arrive through a text message, email or ad that warns of a blocked account, a pending payment or a security check. The link leads to a lookalike login page. Whatever the visitor types there goes straight to the operators: username, password, one-time codes, card details or ID numbers. With those, they can take over the account or approve transfers in real time. When we checked, the page title showed a bare "Index of /home/" directory listing rather than a bank login, while our classification remains bank impersonation phishing.
Eight of 91 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain as of 2026-10-03: alphaMountain.ai, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Fortinet, Gridinsoft, Netcraft, SOCRadar, URLQuery and desenmascara.me. That is a modest share, but it comes from several unrelated vendors that agree within days of registration. urlscan.io returned a malicious verdict, Spamhaus lists the domain in its DBL under the phishing category, and it appears in one AlienVault OTX threat pulse as well as the PhishDestroy blocklist.
The domain was registered on 2026-09-29 through PDR Ltd. (PublicDomainRegistry.com), and we caught it two days later. That timing fits a domain bought specifically for a phishing campaign rather than an established site that was compromised. It is hosted on the PONYNET network of FranTech Solutions in the United States, and it uses a free Let's Encrypt certificate. The padlock in the browser therefore says nothing about who runs the site.
If you entered banking credentials, card numbers or codes on this site, call your bank at once using the number on your card. Ask them to block the card, reset online banking access and review recent transfers. Change the password anywhere you reused it, and re-enroll your two-factor authentication through the bank's official app. Treat any follow-up call or text from "your bank" with suspicion. Defenders should block the domain and its hosting IP at mail and web gateways, and search logs for clicks and form submissions to it since 2026-09-29.
Current provider results, monitoring history and the stored narrative have separate timestamps. A generated summary can describe an earlier observation.
IP reputation describes the shared IP address. PageSpeed describes loading performance. Neither result independently establishes that this domain is phishing.
Provider results, monitoring history and response evidence retain their own dates and origins. Missing values mean “Not recorded”; they do not establish a clean result.
