PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

testsity.pro was a phishing page posing as Hyperliquid, the on-chain perpetuals exchange, and aimed at traders and HYPE holders. Its page title, "78.699 | HYPE | Hyperliquid", copied the live-price tab style of a real trading screen, so a victim's browser tab looked like a genuine HYPE market. PhishDestroy first detected it on 2026-09-11. The site went offline that same day, and as of 2026-10-19 its DNS no longer resolves.

How the scam works

Hyperliquid impersonation pages rely on the familiarity of the trading interface. A price figure in the tab and Hyperliquid branding persuade the visitor that they are on the real exchange. The victim is then pushed to connect a wallet and approve what looks like a routine login, deposit or claim. These signatures can grant the attacker permission to move tokens, and some pages ask for a seed phrase outright. Once that happens, the attacker can sweep funds from the wallet, and the transfers cannot be reversed on-chain.

Evidence

Automated scanners largely missed this page. Only Gridinsoft flagged it, 1 of 89 VirusTotal engines on 2026-09-11. Independent confirmation came from crypto-focused sources instead. ScamSniffer lists the domain alongside PhishDestroy, and it appears in 4 AlienVault OTX threat pulses. That means separate researchers tied it to malicious activity, even though generic antivirus engines did not.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered on 2026-09-02 through PDR Ltd. (PublicDomainRegistry.com), nine days before it was caught. That short gap is typical of throwaway phishing domains built to be used quickly and abandoned. The site sat behind Cloudflare, with the serving address geolocated to Canada, so the true origin server was hidden from view. The generic domain name has no visible link to Hyperliquid, which means only the page content, not the address, presented it as the exchange.

What to do

If you connected a wallet to testsity.pro, open a token approval checker for every network you used and revoke any approvals or permits you do not recognize. If you typed in a seed phrase, treat that wallet as fully compromised and move remaining assets to a new wallet with a fresh phrase right away. Reach Hyperliquid only by typing its address yourself or from a saved bookmark, never through links in ads, direct messages or search results. Defenders should block testsity.pro and add it to wallet and browser phishing filters. They should also watch newly registered domains that use Hyperliquid or HYPE price strings in their page titles.
