steamgifthub.com is an impersonation phishing site that trades on the Steam name, with a domain built around the promise of free gifts. It targets Steam users, especially players who chase giveaways, skins and gift cards. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-09-05. As of 2026-10-19 the site was still online and answering visitors with a redirect, so the threat remains active.
How the scam works
Steam phishing of this kind lures players with a free gift, game key or skin and then asks them to sign in through a page that looks like Steam's login. Whatever the victim types goes to the operators, including the username, password and often the Steam Guard code. With those, the attackers can take over the account, trade away inventory items, spend the Steam wallet balance and sometimes create an API key so they can intercept future trades. The live page carries the title "Gen Admin", which reads like an admin panel rather than a Steam storefront, while we classified the site as Steam impersonation.
Evidence
On 2026-09-14, eight of 89 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain: alphaMountain.ai, BitDefender, CRDF, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, G-Data, Gridinsoft, SOCRadar and Webroot. That is a minority of engines, but these vendors use separate detection methods, so their agreement still counts. The domain also appears in four AlienVault OTX threat pulses, which means other researchers have tracked it on their own. PhishDestroy lists it on its blocklist.
Infrastructure
The domain was registered on 2026-05-09 through Fewmoretaps OU, trading as Trustname.com, about four months before we detected it. That gap fits a domain that sat parked or ran quietly before being used against victims. It sits behind Cloudflare, on an address the network geolocates to Canada, so the IP belongs to the proxy and not to the origin server. The Let's Encrypt certificate only puts a padlock in the browser and says nothing about whether the site is legitimate.
What to do
If you entered your Steam login here, change your Steam password at once from the official app or site, and change the password on the email account tied to Steam. Then use the Steam Guard option to deauthorize all other devices. Check Steam's API key page and revoke any key you did not create, and review your pending trade offers and recent trade and purchase history for anything you did not authorize. If items or funds are missing, contact Steam Support and describe the phishing site. Security teams should block the domain and report it to Cloudflare so the origin behind the proxy can be traced and taken down.
