Overview

stakox.com is an impersonation phishing page that presents itself under the name "STAKO" and is aimed at cryptocurrency holders and wallet users. Scanners identify it as a crypto scam. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-09-15. As of 2026-10-19 the site was still online and serving its content, so it remains a live risk.

How the scam works

Sites like this borrow a polished crypto brand identity, here "STAKO", to look like a legitimate platform where users can grow or manage their coins. The visitor is steered toward handing over value: depositing crypto into the fake platform, connecting a wallet and approving transactions, or typing in recovery phrases and login details. Whatever is deposited, approved or disclosed goes straight to the operators. Crypto transfers are irreversible, so funds sent this way are very hard to recover.

Evidence

Twelve of 91 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain as of 2026-09-25, including BitDefender, Kaspersky, Fortinet, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, G-Data, Gridinsoft, CRDF and alphaMountain.ai. That is a broad mix of established vendors rather than a single outlier. urlscan.io returned a malicious verdict and tagged the page as a crypto scam. Spamhaus lists the domain in its DBL under the phishing category. The crypto-focused blocklists of MetaMask and SEAL carry it alongside PhishDestroy, and four AlienVault OTX threat pulses reference it.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered on 2026-06-15 through Cloudflare, Inc., about three months before PhishDestroy detected it. That gap is consistent with a site that was set up and then promoted to victims before being caught. Traffic is served through Cloudflare's network, with the address geolocating to Canada. Because Cloudflare is a proxy, that location says little about where the operators or the origin server actually are.

What to do

Do not deposit anything on stakox.com, and do not pay any "fee" it demands to release balances. Such charges only extract more money. If you connected a wallet there, use a token-approval checker to revoke any permissions you granted, and move remaining assets to a fresh wallet if you entered a seed phrase. If you reused a password on the site, change it everywhere you used it and enable 2FA. Report any losses to your local cybercrime authority with transaction hashes. Defenders should block the domain at DNS and proxy level and add it to email and chat filtering.
