stakesonpro.com is a fake cryptocurrency exchange that presented itself as "StakesonPro : Secure Crypto Staking & Trading Platform." It targeted people looking for yield on their crypto through staking or for an easy place to trade. PhishDestroy first detected it on 2026-09-17. The site has been offline since 2026-09-25, and its DNS was still inactive at the last check on 2026-10-19.

How the scam works

Fake staking and trading platforms like this one show a polished dashboard, promise high or guaranteed returns, and ask users to register and deposit crypto to their own wallet addresses. Balances on the account page then appear to grow, but the numbers are only figures on a screen controlled by the operators. When a victim tries to withdraw, the site invents obstacles such as "verification" charges, taxes or minimum-balance rules, each one requiring another deposit. Everything sent to the platform is lost, and any personal or identity documents uploaded during sign-up stay in the operators' hands.

Evidence

On VirusTotal, 7 of 91 engines flagged the domain as of 2026-09-25: alphaMountain.ai, CRDF, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Fortinet, Gridinsoft, SOCRadar and VIPRE. That detection rate is modest, but the vendors are independent of one another. Spamhaus lists the domain in its DBL with a spam classification, and it appears in 4 AlienVault OTX threat pulses. PhishDestroy also carries it on its blocklist.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered on 2026-02-11 through Spaceship, Inc., about seven months before PhishDestroy detected it. It was hosted at 213.139.204.9 on the Shock Hosting LLC network in Germany. The site used a TLS certificate issued by Let's Encrypt (YR2), so the browser padlock it displayed did not mean the platform was legitimate.
